How Workshop Contractors Was Born in Woodcrest

We started Workshop Contractors in 2011 because we kept seeing the same look on homeowners’ faces. It was the look of someone who had just been told one price, then handed a bill for another. The look of someone staring at a half-finished vanity while the contractor’s truck didn’t come back for a third week. We saw it in Woodcrest, in Orange, in Tustin, everywhere we went.

The moment that broke the dam happened on a job we were asked to look at after another company had walked away. A homeowner in Woodcrest had paid for a bathroom remodel, and the tile work was so far out of level you could see the wave in it from the doorway. The grout lines wandered. The shower pan wasn’t sloped right, so water pooled against the wall instead of draining. The family had saved for that bathroom for two years. They were embarrassed to show it to us, like it was somehow their fault for trusting the wrong person.

We tore it out and rebuilt it properly. But what stuck with us was the apology in their voice, the way they kept saying they should have known better. They shouldn’t have had to know better. That’s the contractor’s job. That’s when we promised we’d run a company where the price on the estimate is the price on the invoice, where the job gets finished, and where nobody has to apologize for their own home. We’ve kept that promise from day one here in Woodcrest.

Our Founder’s Personal Connection to the Construction Trade

The trades got into our blood young, not through a classroom but through the back door of a job site. Before this company existed, before the van, before the business cards, there was just a person who liked taking things apart to see why they failed, then putting them back together better than they were before. There’s a satisfaction in that you can’t get from a desk job. You can feel it with your hands.

We remember the first time we hung a door that actually closed true. Not close enough, not with a shim or a sanded edge, but true. The latch clicked like a single note. That feeling never went away. It’s still the reason we walk onto every jobsite with the same question: what’s not right here, and how do we make it right? Construction work smells like sawdust and drywall compound and that sharp tang of cut metal. It sounds like compressors and nail guns. But at its core, it’s quieter than people realize. It’s patience. It’s measuring twice. It’s knowing that the stud behind the drywall matters more than the paint on top of it.

After more than a decade in this trade, the work still means something personal. It means standing in a finished room and knowing a family will make coffee there tomorrow morning. It means fixing a problem somebody else created, and watching relief replace frustration on a homeowner’s face. That’s what gets us out of bed on a Monday and keeps us on a ladder on a Friday afternoon. If we weren’t doing this, we’d probably still be building something. You don’t really leave this work once it gets into your hands.

Meet Our Team – The Person Behind Every Job

The person you’ll work with is the owner and founder of Workshop Contractors, a builder and remodeler who has spent over a decade in residential construction across the Inland Empire and Orange County. That time wasn’t spent in a franchise training program or behind a corporate desk. It was spent on actual job sites, learning from skilled tradespeople, making mistakes with our own hands, and earning the judgment that only comes from fixing things that other people walked away from.

Ownership here isn’t a title on a business card. It means the person who shakes your hand is the same person who cares how the corners look when the job is done. It means accountability doesn’t have to be delegated, because the name on the company answers for the work. Beyond the job site, we’re homebodies who understand what it means to want your house to feel safe and settled. That’s the standard every project gets judged by.

When a customer hires Workshop Contractors, they get us, personally, caring about their home from the first measurement to the final walkthrough. That’s a commitment we don’t take lightly.

Our Promise to Woodcrest Homeowners

Every promise we make is backed by a specific policy, because vague good intentions don’t protect anyone. Our pricing promise is simple: you get a written, line-item estimate before work begins, and we don’t change the number once the job starts. If we uncover something unexpected behind a wall, we stop, we show you, and we agree on the next step together. No surprise invoices. No mystery line items.

On materials, we don’t cut corners to pad a margin. When a job calls for fixtures or plumbing components, we use brands that hold up over time, names like Moen, Delta, and American Standard, because what’s inside the wall should last as long as the tile on top of it. And on workmanship, we stand behind every job we complete. If something isn’t right, we come back and make it right. That’s not a marketing line. It’s how we’ve always operated in Woodcrest, since 2011.

Our Credentials

Workshop Contractors operates with the professional standards that responsible construction work requires. Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. We carry insured and bonded status, because residential construction work should never put a homeowner’s property or peace of mind at risk.

  • State-licensed: We maintain the licensing required for residential construction work in California, so the job is done within the legal framework that protects you.
  • Insured and bonded: Coverage is in place for the work we perform, which matters when work is being done inside your home, around your family, and on your biggest investment.
  • Local experience: We have served the Woodcrest area and surrounding communities since 2011, which means we know the houses here, the age of the stock, the soil and slab patterns, and the building details that make this area unique.
  • Community reputation: Our business has grown the way a local contractor’s should: by recommendation from homeowners who watched us work and then told their neighbors.

Why does this matter? A license means you’re protected by the regulatory system designed to hold contractors accountable. Insurance and bonding protect you from liability that shouldn’t fall on your shoulders. And local experience means we’re not learning the quirks of Woodcrest construction on your dime.

Rooted in Woodcrest

Woodcrest isn’t just where we work. It’s where we understand the rhythm of the neighborhoods, the way homes sit against the hills, and the mix of older ranch-style houses and newer builds that give this community its character. When we work on a home here, we understand the neighborhood contract: that your house is part of a street, and a street is part of a community, and a community is something you belong to.

We serve homeowners throughout the region, from Anaheim and Orange to North Tustin, Tustin, Santa Ana, Loma Linda, and the foothill communities like Crestline and Phelan. That span gives us perspective, but Woodcrest is home base, and the relationship we have with the people here is built on showing up and doing honest work. It’s not complicated, and we like it that way.

If you’re planning a remodel, a repair, or a project you’ve been putting off, call us at (844) 384-3361. We’ll talk through what you’re thinking, and if it’s a good fit, we’ll start with a free written estimate. No pressure, no obligation, just straight answers from people who’ve been doing this work in and around Woodcrest since 2011.
